Level 1: A and B (Basic)
At this level, students can use the language to communicate in ordinary communicative situations. They are capable of producing and understanding frequently used expressions and simple phrases, which allows them to talk in a simple and direct way about known or common topics with an interlocutor who speaks clearly. Students are able to introduce themselves and others, request and give personal information, and ask and answer questions about their everyday lives, their experiences and their lives in general. They can describe and talk about their past and their environment, as well as about issues related to their immediate needs in a simple but precise way.
Level 2: A and B (Pre-intermediate)
Students can now use the language to get along and interact with Spanish-speaking people in various simple daily, social, travel, study, work, and/or leisure situations. Besides describing personal situations and experiences and telling events from the present as well as from the past and the future, they can express and ask about wishes and ambitions, explain plans and briefly justify their opinions or intentions.
Level 3: A and B (Intermediate)
At this level, students can interact fluently and easily with native speakers, allowing an effortless communication among the interlocutors. They can produce clear and detailed statements about different topics, understand complex speeches about concrete and abstract subjects, and defend their point of view on general issues indicating pros and cons of the different alternatives and supporting and refuting arguments.
Level 4: A and B (Advanced)
At this level, students are able to engage in social, work, academic and/or professional situations in an appropriate and adequate way using the language fluently. They are able to express themselves in a fluent and spontaneous way, demonstrating an accurate use of Spanish. They can differentiate functional variations of the language and slight nuances of meaning even in complex situations. They are able to understand and produce clear, well-structured, and detailed statements about concrete and abstract topics, as well as understand implicit meanings. They can present and refute arguments and opinions, understand and use irony, and use various sources to reconstruct information and arguments to present them in a concise and consistent way.
Two types of certificates will be granted:
• Attendance: 80% attendance.
• Passing: passing the exam of a certain course level, having attended 80% of the course.
The number of course hours is indicated in the certificates.
